An Introduction to the World of Heat Exchangers

This presentation introduces attendees to the fundamentals of hydronic heat exchanger design, application, and sizing. Topics include the mathematics of heat transfer, including heat transfer coefficients, LMTD, and surface area, as well as how these principles influence equipment selection. Attendees will also explore the differences between brazed plate, gasketed plate-and-frame, and shell-and-tube heat exchangers, including pressure capabilities, flow arrangements, passes, baffles, and other key design considerations.
